This fall, TechPlace is relocating to a new, purpose-built space inside the Robert Bateman Community Centre. This move is about more than just changing our address, it’s about embedding innovation within our broader community and creating more opportunities for collaboration, connection, and growth.
Why the Move?
Our new home at 5151 New Street in Burlington will enable us to:
- Deepen community integration by co-locating with partners like Brock University, Burlington Public Library, and the Halton District School Board.
- Strengthen our support for entrepreneurs by offering flexible workspace, curated programming, and expanded partnerships.
- Align with the City of Burlington’s Vision 2040 and innovation strategy, fostering inclusive economic growth and smart city innovation.

Q: Why is TechPlace moving?
To better serve our members and the broader Burlington innovation ecosystem by creating more space for collaboration, community, and growth.
Q: What should members expect with the new space and memberships?
Core membership benefits will continue in an upgraded space designed to enhance connection and collaboration. As we move to Bateman, some current membership options will be adjusted to make way for new choices that better reflect the evolving needs of our community.
Q: How do I access the building and where can I park?
TechPlace is conveniently located near the main entrance of the Bateman Community Centre, with its own dedicated access points. There is plenty of free parking available on-site. The Appleby GO Station is nearby, providing easy transit access. The new location is just an 8-minute drive from our current site.
Q: Who else is in the building?
Our new neighbours include Brock University, Burlington Public Library, and the Halton District School Board—opening up exciting new collaboration opportunities. We’re also moving in with our current co-location partners, Innovation Factory and Angel One Investor Network, continuing our strong partnerships in the new space.
Q: How do I book a tour or get more info about the move?
